A resounding hit on both DOS and the SNES, Blackthorne was hailed as a breath of fresh air among platformers of its time, as well as a resounding success in its own right. I first played it on PC as part of the Worlds of Sword & Steel compilation from Strategic Simulations, Inc. (SSI), which also introduced me to a number of other games I still cherish to this day. It was challenging (especially without a controller!), but also a load of fun, and I took a lot of pride in finally beating it for the first time. I hope you'll enjoy my return to this adventure all these years later—particularly since Blizzard now directly offers this and several other milestone classics for free!
