Freespace is a space simulator game that dates back to the glory days of space sims. Although I'm running this game on the 1999 freespace 2 engine thanks to the modding community of HLP, the original game is from 1998.
Back in the day there were several big names. Wing Commander being the most well known. Freespace carved out it's own niche with a well thought out campaign and a great storyline.
You are alpha 1. The leader of a squad of fighters. You are not invincible, you are not the one that decides the fate of humanity. You are a soldier in service of the GTA. Work hard, and maybe you'll survive!
So without much further ado: Time for some old school fun!
