90Ahh it's summer time, and we're slowly getting through a bunch of redesigns we need to do to manage the parts shortage. It's also been really nice out - this weekend was NYC Pride! We launched the MacroPad that we've previewed here. Let's look at what we're routing, and also some stuff we got in the mail.
The Great Search - We Love to Flip-Flopping When Parts Are Hard to Find!

Designing hardware during the parts shortage is really challenging - you need to spec parts but there's now a risk you won't be able to get it. Historically this maybe meant a delay of a few weeks or at worst, months. Now some parts are delayed 2 years! We're revising some designs we were about to launch with 'flip flop' designs - where we lay out two alternative packages. We don't know the official name for this technique, we borrowed it from fixies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flip-flop_hub Let's take a look at how we picked the packages and how we laid out the design to accomodate em.
