TROUBLESHOOTING
If this DirectX disk doesn't work for you, look online for a different Directx disk for windows95 to test out, and make a copy of your virtual machine (this is a very easy function in oracle, and on the main menu). You'll need to use this copy of your virtual machine to test out the other directx installations and how they interact with DB2. The same concept works if you have other issues, of course. Make sure you have a save point, basically. For this tutorial you shouldn't need this, but you've done a lot of work, so shutting down the VM and copying it after you finish fixing the display isn't a bad idea.

If a random error happens to you, go to control panel ➡️add and remove programs ➡️remove detective barbie 2. Then, try reinstalling it. If this doesn't work, try opening the game from the d2 file on the disk itself. If that doesn't work, you could even try making a new folder on the virtual machine, copying the contents from the disk into that folder, and installing it from there.
