What will it take to make StreetFighter 5 a great game.

Good Question.

Because in order to fix it...You have to understand where the game went wrong.

And it's the same problem that plagues every current fighter out.

Current Fighters Reward guessing far too much.

You Score one hit and either combo into X-Factor or Sparking for full damage...and on top of that it's always there and ready.

V-trigger on the other hand rewards the player for playing badly. For you mainly build it by taking attacks...why is the player being rewarded?

So what happens typically...player gets beat up, Gets meter for V trigger then suddenly the player has options that are completely un earned.

You then land a combo...A chain combo into V trigger then suddenly you see what you see today...

A lot of bad players who guess their way to victory.

This is why placings in tournaments are so Chaotic outside of the top Japanese players.

No one is really a threat unless today is their day right?

kind of like Poker tournaments in that sense right?

V-Trigger needs to be Fixed.

V-Trigger Makes everything safe.

Depending on the Character...Matches can be decided by just who landed V- Trigger 1st.


Another Problem are link attacks( To normal moves that combo in quick succession) also enable easy mode for today's players.

links are often comboed into either V trigger or a Juggle or Ex Attack. Again huge damage that's unearned considering the whole FGC has become obsessed over frame data.

You must agree Mr Game Designer that when you watch these matches don't they look like they are just spamming attacks with plus frame data on their attacks?

That's why they hate Cammy so much.

So what are you seeing...Plus Frame attack into super easy link then suddenly you lost 25% plus you're knocked down. sounds Skillful doesn't it.

Throws and crossups are too strong as well... on top of anti-airs being too weak...like the shoryuken for example.

so now I'm guessing between a throw that's nigh impossible to break from even if I guess correctly or link into whatever meter they have. The Lack of Defensive options upon waking up makes these things much stronger than they have to be.

So think about this...Do consider the Skill level of any top player who's not Japanese and ask yourself...

Is their Skill level high enough to where they could defeat Daigo in his Prime...Or what about Ohnuki or Kuroda in 3rd strike.

So here's how you fix the game. Virtually all V trigger techniques like Ibuki's Shuriken for example should be cut out.

Comboing into V trigger should be cut out as well.

Link combos themselves should require V trigger instead.

links shouldn't be so easily confirmable either.

Think back to how tight linking attacks used to be in Super Turbo...now you're seeing where I'm getting at.
