(1:00:40) Very easy to import terrain or sketches on the map editor itself from whatever image editing software you have.
(1:01:30) Similar to the warcraft 3 and age of empires map editors in terms
elevating the landscape and adding terrain.
(1:08:00) Can paint terrain based on the elevation chosen in the editor
(1:08:55) Modding tools to be released in the next couple of weeks and will
be tied to a big patch(beta move to live and new beta) Also the devs plan to
release documentation on how the tools work aswell.
(1:10:10) Can import effects same as terrain
(1:11:15) Need more CPU ram and memory in general to run the editor
(1:12:45) A lot of automatic editing tools like grass can be put all over
the terrain by a few clicks of the mouse.
(1:15:47) Trees are the same as grass, using an automatic layer system.
(1:16:40) There are a lot of premade outer meshes that can be placed to
make the background of the scene look like it keeps going.
(1:23:10) Entities that can be placed follow your mouse and the elevation
of the terrain.
(1:23:35) Vertex alignment tools to save a lot of time when trying to align
and snap together entities.
(1:25:55) Mesh Bender allows you to bend meshes to align walls and other
entities like that.
(1:32:06) Can change the tint/color and the material used for almost any mesh or entity.
(1:33:45) Performance is impacted on your viewing range so you can put a lot of detail in big maps/scenarios. Terrain Node detail decreases the farther it is always from you in the editor to help with performance.
(1:37:00) Terrain layer tool meant to be used for big areas to paint multiple
meshes/entities at a time and the brush tool is more for detail and single
entities.
(1:40:00) Decals are very easily placed and there is plenty of premade ones.
Also there is an automatic script which places decals through the same meshes on a map(for example, putting moss on all the castle walls)
(1:41:10) Atmosphere system lets you change the weather and season automatically on all your meshes by just changing one drop down menu.(For example when you choose winter, snow is spread out throughtout the map)
(1:42:45) You can change the textures, floras and other things for each
season. (For example for spring there is more grass and for fall there is less)
(1:44:20) Terrain Layers can also be added based on the season for more detail and entities can be removed for each season. (For example food on a table outside dissapears during winter time)
(1:45:48) Other editors include flora editor, skeleton, animation,
physics material and partical system editor.
(1:47:35) Textures can have their physics changed easily and this will
effect the sound the texture makes when the player walks over it or hits it.
(1:48:40) Level system is similar to the atmosphere system. These changes can be made all in one scene and switched between with a click of a button. Also you can change between siege mode and civilian mode. Also you can make your own levels and switch between those aswell. There is also a script to automatically change walls and some other entities from level 1 to level 3.
(1:53:00) Spawn points can be placed very easily for archers, siege weapons and other entities, also you can switch between a broken wall and a built one very easily.
(1:54:45) Navigation Mesh shows the AI where to go and the path to take to do what they have to in terms of sieging or defending. There is an automatic tool, but it does need work because castles and towns are complex.
(1:59:00) Water can be placed in a specific area or the whole terrain based
on the elevation.
(2:05:00) You can test what you made by using the start mission function and this lets you test any scene and level that you select. (This is good for
sieges) For battles, using the custom battle function already is the game is
recommended.
(2:07:30) Mesh blender tool lets you paint the terrain and also add a small
amount of paint to an entity like a house connected to the terrain. You can
also change the pattern, height and other things in terms of the paint used
in the mesh blender tool.
(2:09:30) You can create your own meshes and textures and whatever else you need to.
