DFFOO [GL]: CPU Raid PSA - Target the Big One.
For those who have not grasped the usefulness of things like aoe & splash damage.
Frequently Asked Questions:
"What if the attack node has a bunch of brv and he's about to kill one of us? Should I target him then?"
Yes. Of course you should. Staying alive is priority #1.
"But isn't attacking the big one a waste since the the other one heals him anyway?"
No. The heals only count for about 40k. Most people are bringing maxed out purple Sephiroths to this, and he can dish out 40k like it's nothing.
"Well, I played FF4, and in FF4, it was wise to take out the healer node first."
This is not FF4, it's DFFOO. Completely different battle mechanics.
Splash damage is not some brand new concept that the game just introduced. Every fight in this game, with this boss type (1 main target, 2 helpers) has been introduced alongside a banner featuring characters that specialize in splash damage. Coincidence?
This is not meant as elitist snobbery. In the end it's just a game, people are free to play however they wish, and it's all about the fun, of course.
This is merely a demonstation / discussion starter about the current raid, and aoe/splash in general.
