Coming soon... Live History videos featuring GLADIATORS!

Did women ever take to the sands of the arena as female gladiators? We have many records of female gladiators from ancient sources, artistic depictions, and archaeological findings. For the most part, it appears to have been a form of exotic entertainment owing to the fact that women fighting was contrary to traditional norms and was seen as both novel and exciting. Many show runners sought to include them in their own gladiatorial games as a way to advertise such events as being more spectacular than the competition.

We are thrilled to collaborate with Legio XII Fulminata, Ludus Aemilius, a Roman reenactment group based in Italy. They have performed gladiatorial fights and shows in amphitheaters and archaeological sites throughout Italy, France, Croatia, and Tunisia. Check out their website and socials!
