152During the scenes where Red Skull meets Thanos, Gamora, and Natasha, he calls them the child of their fathers. Yet, when he meets Clint, he calls him “son of Edith.” This is because in the comics, Harold Barton was actually abusive and an alcoholic. Clint and Nat’s fight for the Soul Stone shows you glimpses of their turbulent relationship from the comics. Nat’s sacrifice is completely opposite of the Ultimates where she is the one that killed Clint’s family. Clint’s opening scene in this film was almost put into the finale of Avengers: Infinity War, but since he hadn’t been featured in that film at all, the Russo Brothers decided to move it to the beginning of this film.
