25,158They decided to make a nod to the comics by giving him purple trails in the film’s climax. While a lot of people think that it is a sign that Morbius has completely embraced his powers, the director has come forward to assure people that that’s not it at all. In the beginning, Morbius was wearing black so he had black trails. Later, he wore the orange jumpsuit, so he had orange trails. In the climax, he’s wearing all black with purple trim, so he has a purple trail. This definitely ended up being more true to the comic book style of the character though.
