A car's licence plate references the comics! Marvel fans always know to look out for licence plates in the movies as they usually detail a tribute or character origin, and this movie is no different. When Peter goes to the Washington Bridge to find the head of admissions for MIT, her car licence plate can be seen which reads ‘63ASM-3.’ This is in reference to ‘The Amazing Spider Man’ No.3 from 1963, which features the first ever appearance of Dr Octopus. Moments later in the movie, Dr Otto makes his return to the Spider-Man franchise.
