206When Lara enters her father’s hidden basement, there is an inscription that can be seen that confirms Amelia Croft’s death was in 1996. This is the same year that the first Tomb Raider video game was released. Originally, Warner Brothers had plans to reboot the franchise back in 2009, and they were going to attach Megan Fox as the lead. In 2011, the project died, and MGM decided to bring the prequel version to the screen. In 2013, they brought Marti Noxon on to re-write the script, and he was eventually replaced by Daughterty.
