Nicholas Hoult watched Kelsey Grammer’s performance as Beast in X-Men: The Last Stand, but he also looked back at his earlier performance in Frasier. As for Michael Fassbender, he studied Sir Ian McKellen’s rendition as Lensherr in the older X-Men movies. Michael also went back and watched first hand interviews with survivors of the Holocaust to better portray that history for the character.
