-More competition
Bands need to have original songs, have a fan base, and have stage presence to increase the opportunity for shows
-Less technical, more artistic
Vietnam, on average, has higher level of technique and knowledge of music theory.
The average person is more musically trained.
Whereas California has a more artistic approach to music. Many songwriters have less knowledge of music theory
Of course, a lot of technique comes out of California but I'm talking about the average people and bands, not the top percentile

Artistic music, any level is ok

Bands in California are very good at branding and marketing. In some cases, great branding and mediocre music. It is also known that brands and stories sell, while technical music falls of deaf ears.
