In anticipation of Tri coming out, I thought we would take a look at the begging. I find it amazing to think that about 18 years ago that this series was released on VHS. Off hand I don't think the entire season was released on DVD until 2006 or later. What I find even more amazing is that it took until 2014 for the first few seasons to be put on Netflix. Hope in bringing this tape out I was able to bring up some fun nostalgic memories.
I can just barely remember waking up on Saturday to watch it. This show was on Fox kid at 7:00am I believe. Of course I was really young at the time, and a story that lasted more than 1 episode was beyond my comprehension. Plus I wanted to sleep in on Saturdays so I fell out of the series for a long time. So long in fact I could not remember the name of the series. I would ask people "Do you remember this one series. It was like Pokemon but different." Naturally I didn't get any results. One time I got the name Digimon from a friend. I recently got Netflix and started to see if it was there. I found the first 2 seasons and have yet to stop loving this show. For same reason I was under the impression that the show didn't gain that much popularity and these 2 season was all there was. Boy was I happy to be wrong. In fact as I was getting back into the series a new one was coming out called Fusion. This time it was still a Saturday Morning cartoon but on Vortex on the CW. The only problem was I had to work on Saturdays. Through the Miracle of timed VHS tapes I recorded it on Saturday and watched in on Sunday. The only problem was Vortex was only able to play Volume 1, before Saturday Morning cartoons officially died. About a year later Netflix came to the rescue again giving me Volume 2. To this day season 1,2,3 and 6 are still on Netflix. That's my story. What's yours?
