Greetings one and all to a realm of commentated videos where I essentially critique a wide variety of games that I have enjoyed not just thoroughly, but also enable a high level of creativity in some form to make the experience special for me to talk about!

Indeed, it's about time that I finally covered a Digimon game on this Critique Commentary series here, and what better way of going about doing just that than a spiritual successor of the sorts (as well as being an actual sequel to it, albeit not in gameplay... entirely) that is Digimon World: Next Order!

It goes without saying that this is a game that does pay it's respects to the original pet-raising monster tamer video game that started it all for this series here, seeing how Bandai back then had a bit of a problem with sticking to what works, similar to Sega in the 2000's and beyond, whereby each game had it's own unique gameplay style, for better (Digimon World 2003 and Dawn/Dusk come to mind) or for worse, (2 to an extent, but 4 especially, even though I quite liked that action RPG) with how they've always been a company that throws all sorts of colourful games at the wall and seeing what sticks!

However, with just how much nostalgia and fond memories that many a young gamer (myself included, with how my very first experience of the original Digimon World was as far back as a 5 year way back in 2001!) have for this beloved series, in particular the original that started it all, it goes without saying that it's a no-brainer that they go back to the 'roots' of what made the Digimon games so great and go full-speed ahead with it!

Ah man, I have SO much to say about this game alone, never mind the series as a whole, but I figured that I can safely spread it across the ten episodes that'll be showing my adventures throughout the game, starting off right near the start of my 100+ hour journey here with one of my first two starter digimon (alongside my first ultimate at that!) that is BlueMeramon alongside Youkomon, exploring the early-game areas where things do get quite interesting indeed! (A pity that, unlike the original which had mastered this art of 'combat thematic' immersion here, it never did feel right to me that Champions, Ultimates and even MEGAS can struggle to kill digimon a generation or two lower than them)

Still, for what it's worth, Digimon World: Next Order offers a fresh experience, as far as the usual pet raising or monster tamer experience goes as, whilst it does bring back that much-beloved raising a weak digimon into a strong and powerful one alongside recruiting increasingly more impressive digimon for this game's File City, that being Floatia itself!

Though it goes much more beyond the original's scope in terms of what it was capable of doing at the time, hence the technical limitations of the late 90's that are no longer present here in the late 2010's! (Never mind what the 2020's and beyond hold anyhow!)

But yes, I plan on saving some of my deeper thoughts on this game for later on, not showing all my 'cards' here so soon, of which I do very much look forward to speaking about here!

In any case, I hope you enjoyed the video and any constructive comments or criticism is appreciated!
