Greetings one and all to a realm of commentated videos where I essentially critique a wide variety of games that I have enjoyed not just thoroughly, but also enable a high level of creativity in some form to make the experience special for me to talk about!

Seeing how it's been so long since I last actually played this most unique 'MMO' RPG of the sorts, over 6 and a half years since July of 2015, I figured it was about time that I covered what some could very well say is a niche, but very much a 'cult classic', game that is aptly called Kingdom of Loathing.

A most intriguing name for what is essentially a barebones 2D graphics point and click adventure with a multitude of RPG elements attached to it alongside a small, but closely-knit, community that is (or was) active and eager to help out new players and the alike alongside a whole section dedicated to guilds and what could be considered as 'raids' of the sorts.

The reason I say that is, although having dedicated QUITE an amount of hours into this RPG with some MMO elements to it, I never did get around to the proper end-game territory despite having done three runs of this game, each time mastering a skill from this game's six classes, that being the Seal Clubbers and Turtle Tamers from the Muscle branch, the Pastamancers and Saucerors from the Mystic class and the Disco Bandits and Accordion Thieves from the Moxie group! (Naturally, being mainly a melee-focused RPG player, I did go with Seal Clubber for my first run although I then went to the Sauceror for my second go and, seemingly not being in the mood for Moxie training, went back to the Muscle side of things to have a shot with Turtle Tamer, the third and current run you see me playing here)

Despite that though, there is still a fair amount to show off here, with this just being the one episode and whatnot, since I delve into some of my more favoured dungeons here, the Penultimate Fantasy Ship and the Castle in the Clouds in the Sky in particular on account of it being a late-game dungeon alongside generally offering good rewards on the side as far as Kingdom of Loathing's currency, meat, goes anyhow!

Not just that, but also going into other aspects of KoL here, such as my profile, the clan I was a part of at the time (that being The Jedi Council funnily enough) and all the nifty skills, heck even the highly-useful BuffBot that I made a great deal of usage from once I got into this game proper, seeing how it offers you all sorts of potent buffs that, normally, you'd need to master multiple classes more than once to get the best of all the support buffs that you can cast on yourself as well as others, be they fellow clannies or complete strangers!

Definitely though, in retrospect, I do find that I did quite enjoy this unique 'grind' of the sorts here, despite all that transpired mere days later after recording this video way back on the 7th of July 2015, whereby I had the unfortunate displeasure of being permanently banned (first offence and all) from Kingdom of Loathing mere days later on account of a major community policy violation that they never seemed to elaborate upon, one can only suspect that it has something to do with the dispute/falling out of a community moderator here, favoured status and all, but alas I was never one to back down or soften the tone of a message when in the presence of more revered figures since, at the end of the day, they're just people like you and me.

Ah well, I suppose it can't be helped either way, just that I am glad to have experienced it during the time that I did from March of 2011 to July of 2015, over four years of activity spread throughout, since it goes without saying that it truly was a most unique experience indeed, whereby state-of-the-art graphics and epic stories don't necessarily make a game 'fun', even if they do add a nice 'topping' to a most excellent 'cake' indeed, whereas it's the raw gameplay and what makes gamers 'tick' when they engage with it that matters most and, suffice to say, it certainly worked out for me here anyhow!

In any case, I hope you enjoyed the video and any constructive comments or criticism is appreciated!
