Digimon World Next Order [No Commentary] Part 36
Well, changed my mind again. Used devil chips. Used digivolution stones and finally got to the 200 types. That achievement was outrageous... In the words of Godfrey, "I have given it courtesy enough." Following is the final digivolution recap and my thoughts on the game.

Thoughts:
It was quite a fun game most of the time... There ware ton of quality of life improvements from Digimon World 1 like somewhat knowing the stats of the Digimon (somewhat because e.g. happiness and discipline weren't really numbers), knowing the requirements, some items being easier to get early on (e.g. Portable Potties), the bathroom in the gym, digivolution items were way more accessible...
But on the other hand, there were quite a few new, but boring or slow mechanics. Gathering was painfully slow, some achievements were outrageous (e.g. 200 types raised, or all 500+ cards gathered, or all buildings upgraded). Stat grinding was also not that nice, I have the feeling that around 15-20% of the gameplay was just that. And probably worst of all, there was no endgame. It was just grind and nothing else. The dimensions were fun until I beat them a few times and when I didn't need money, high stats, digivolution items or materials, I never went back. Extra DNA Digivolution was very cool, but most combinations ended in the same Digimon (e.g. Omegamon Alter B, Omegamon Zwart D, Imperialdramon FM and Gallantmon CM). And worst of all... The thing I minded the most is not being able to select an amount of items to trade or craft. Want to trade resources at the builder? Good luck clicking the same thing a million times. Want to craft super double disks? Good luck clicking the same thing a million times. Even in older Final Fantasy games they at least had the possibility to memorize the cursor position...
The story imo was so-so. Wasn't too bad, wasn't too good. Overall, I liked it. That's why I decided to finish it fully. But the flaws that it had will probably stop me from coming back to it any time soon, or ever for that matter. It was an okay game...
