Written Review:
Hey Everyone Blankakong here! In today's 2 minute 2 cents video we'll be taking a look
at a PS1 classic in Dino Crisis. This game developed and published by Capcom and was officially released in 1999 for the original PlayStation and is also on the Dreamcast and Windows, as well as a PS1 classic on
the PS3.

Dino Crisis is a survival horror action game by the same director of the original trilogy of Resident Evil games, Shinji Mikami. Dino Crisis borrows its core design from the RE games but is unique in many other ways. Its gameplay consist of mostly puzzle solving, unlocking doors, investigating documents and surviving the deadly dinosaurs. Unlike the zombie enemies from the RE franchise the Dinosaurs are fast and relentless and can leave you overwhelmed in quick fashion. However Capcom gives the player many tools to combat the dinosaurs, you have standard firearms, tranquilizer darts and laser powered fences. With so many tools I never felt cheated when I died.

Something that surprised me was the enemy Ai, which was very dynamic and a
little unpredictable at times which was very impressive for a PS1 title. For example, the Dinosaurs can follow you from room to room, and also have dynamic behavior like eating, sleeping and lounging about only noticing you if you make too much noise or get too close. The inventory system was also very unique and improved greatly compared to Original RE games, first Regina's key items, Weapons, ammo and recovery items are all separated. And instead of the unlimited item box, Dino Crisis featured different colored Item Stations (Red, Green Yellow) which rewarded you certain types of items. There were multiple stations that required plugs which were limited which added a layer of strategy in the item management. There was also a crafting system that allowed you to enhance recovery items and your dart ammo.

Dino Crisis also featured a narrative path system that would effect the ending and gave the player a choice in aggressive gameplay or passive gameplay, there are 4 possible endings depending on your choices. Dino Crisis took about 9 and a half hours to complete and left me generally satisfied, the only complaint I have is the final boss being underwhelming. Dino Crisis in my book is a 7/10! I hope this review was helpful and I hope you give this PS1 classic a try. Until next time!
