Dinosaurs for Hire on sega genesis gameplay
Dinosaurs For Hire is a 1993 side-scrolling run-and-gun game created by Malibu Interactive. Produced in the United States and never released in Europe or Japan.
Archie the Tyrannosaurus, Lorenzo the Triceratops, and Reese the Stegosaurus were playable characters from the comic book series Dinosaurs For Hire. Cyrano the Pterodactyl, the fourth key character in Dinosaurs For Hire, was not featured as a playable character, although he did appear in-game to brief the other three dinosaurs on their missions. Despite the fact that early beta screenshots depicted Cyrano as a playable character, this was likely eliminated for balance issues due to his ability to fly.
The three DFHs must use their talents and weaponry knowledge to complete a variety of hazardous tasks for their employers. Given the hilarious beginnings of the comic book, the game has elements such as an early "psych-out" opening (fighting a gigantic, extremely difficult boss) and an abundance of ninja foes. The longer the firing button is kept down, the more "trigger happy" the characters become, first with a stoic expression, then a snarl, and finally an open-mouthed, mad expression. The only effect this appears to have on gameplay is an aesthetic one.
