I absolutely loved writer-director Paul King's Paddington. It's one of those rare films that's great for kids and adults and I strongly encourage you to seek it out this weekend when the film hits theaters. It's absolutely worth your hard earned money. If you're not familiar with the film, the story centers on a bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who is lost at Paddington Station in London, adopted by a kind family, and then sets out in search of an explorer who inspired his family to visit London years before. The live-action cast includes Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, and Peter Capaldi. For more on Paddington, watch the trailer, read Matt's review, or check out all our previous coverage.
At the recent Los Angeles press day I landed an exclusive interview with Paul King. He talked about the issues with Paddington acting like Ted during filming, what would it be like if Ted and Paddington did a scene together and the editing process. We also discussed what he learned from test screenings, sequel possibilities, and a lot more.
