DiRT Rally Custom Event, PSVR #2, Base PS4, Dualshock controller
0Wales is the freakiest course to drive through because of the ditches and trees. But PSVR allows me to see the shape of the upcoming road MUCH better and plan my moves.
I had driven this course immediately before this video, but I calibrated the headset too low, so sometimes I couldn't see well over the hood. Here, I recalibrate at the beginning, and I'm sitting higher up, so I can drive a bit better.
Despite playing on Professional (Tier 3), I still only place 6th. With just slightly better driving, I would have gotten 4th, but I usually want at least 3rd so I can qualify for the next tier. I haven't played Dire Rally for over a year, so I have to get my chops back, especially learning how to drive the turns with the throttle again.

At first I didn't like how my view doesn't pitch with the car, but frankly, if it did, I wouldn't have so good of a gauge of whether I'm climbing a hill or descending on one when I have no visual cues to help with my orientation. So using the default camera actually helps telegraph the car handling better. Since the chair I'm actually sitting in doesn't pitch with the game at all, noticing the grade of the road by its angle to my head position is the next best indicator.
