Stephanie Thomas is a disability stylist and advocate who wanted to see real change in the fashion industry for those with disabilities.

"Even as a person with a disability like I am, I didn't think about clothing honoring me. I always thought about readjusting what I did to make sure that I looked good in the clothing that I wanted," said Thomas.

Thomas describes how important it is to figure out what works for your body.

"For me, it's my dexterity with my hand. People go, 'Oh, she's just missing a thumb.' Well, this impacts my other hand, which overcompensates for this hand. Then I was born without all my toes, so this impacts my footwear, how I walk, my back, my knees, everything," Thomas said.

So, Thomas founded Cur8able, a disability fashion styling consultancy that solves two problems: simplifying shopping and de-stressing dressing for the disabled, people with chronic illnesses, and people who are injured. She uses her award-winning disability fashion styling system as a litmus test when styling her clients like actress and advocate Lauren Spencer or actress and Paralympian Katy Sullivan.

"Clothing has to be, first of all, easy to put on and take off, medically safe, which is smart for your health, and then finally fashionable. The wearer has to love it," explained Thomas.
