The investigation continues, as our her--er, protagonist--gets his shit together long enough to investigate the corpse without vomiting. In addition to a couple of leads to follow up on, this nets us an additional road block at the start of the investigation: we need someone to help us cut the corpse down!
We meet the well-dressed lady on the boat: Joyce Messier of Wild Pines, who just might aid our investigation if we can do her a solid by figuring out which of the area's regular lorry drivers are acting as drug mules!
Now, two clear goals lie before us: help Joyce so she helps us, and help someone in the Union so that they help get the corpse down.
The lorry investigation goes pretty well, in the sense that we've identified the likely perp. Unfortunately, we still need to find her, and unless I want to ruin my budding friendship with the cool lorry driver who hates narc-ing, I'm going to have to intimidate the racist lorry driver, even though I'm a "Half Light 2" little weenie! As of the end of this session I'm still holding out hope that I'll manage to work myself up to frightening this jerk.
Meanwhile, we've got a potential helper at the Union: the gate monitor Measurehead, a gigantic racist who, at the very least, seems big enough to help cut the corpse down. The catch? I'm going to have to convince him that I've seen the light and adopted his race science ideology. I can tell that the lieutenant's not thrilled, but... what are we supposed to do, Kim? Should I fight the giant racist with my utter lack of physical strength and motor coordination?
Next time: we try to make progress on these goals without getting too morally compromised in the process!
