Discovery: Recap and Review (Kind Of)
UPDATE: So after watching yet again, I noticed that the reason they are fixing the well on the alien planet at the intro is because it was caused by "radiation" during a meteor drilling accident. Basically someone caused the damage and they were there to repair it.
So This is my basic understanding of the first two episodes talking over plot point and giving my opinion on them.
For those who just want an honest opinion without going into all the spoilers and discussion here it is:
I liked Discovery overall.
It has potential. I don't mind the redesign and updated look of the ship and tech. It's a good point for new fans to hop on, but they'll get a shock if they then go back to experience "Old Trek."
But I don't like the addition of Hologram communications and technology that should not be present in its time-frame.
And the Klingon's still look weird to me.
However I feel like the characters often act or say things to make drama when otherwise they're solidly personalities are consistent.
Watching it was like watching the Kelvin-Timelines films. It kept me entertained but does not fit with the Prime timeline in my view.
One minute it was a generic scifi blockbuster, the next there was a SFX or star trek style look to something, then I was out of the trek zone again.
5/10. Going to continue watching.
