In this game, I honestly can't distinguish between the friend and foe as sometimes the NPC I just walked in front of suddenly becomes enemy despite me doing nothing to him. It's like once they know the guard is after me, they also have to capture me and get an award.

Since the combat in this game is feeling so more unforgiving, it's making me go on stealth instinctively to avoid all the fights I can.
