Dishonored 2 Let's Play ➤ Part 11 - Excellent Level, Disappointing Systems
Lower Aventa District, despite being such a small area, feels like its own complete level. There's so much to do here, and it's only the prelude to the actual mission! Interviews with developers established that one of the advantages of the in-house Void Engine is that levels can be made denser and more detailed. They definitely put it to great use.
Why have The Heart and the Outsider Shrine cutscenes return in the sequel if so little effort is going to be put into them compared to the first game? It rubs me the wrong way. The changes to The Heart only make it less interesting to use while the changes to The Outsider only make the Chaos system feel less impactful.
I made an editing mistake and this video does not end with a fade to black like all the others do. The smooth and seamless experience of the Bryce Let's Play has been tarnished.
