"Disney's Bonkers: Wax Up!" is a video game created by Al Baker & Associates and published by Sega. Initially released in February 1995 for the Game Gear under the Sega Club brand, this game draws inspiration from the Bonkers television series. In 1998, the game received a port for the Master System, which was subsequently published by Tec Toy.
The plot centers around Bonkers D. Bobcat, a toon cop, who embarks on a mission. He follows a trail that leads him to a casting factory where he must rescue his partner, Lucky Piquel, and various toons who have been transformed into wax statues. The sinister antagonist behind this scheme is Madame Whosaid, who has intentions of establishing her own wax museum.
The gameplay involves guiding Bonkers through different levels. Players collect pickle clues, save waxed toons, navigate hazards, and combat enemies. Food items replenish Bonkers' health, badges award bonus points, and Bonkers icons provide extra lives.
While the original Game Gear version was relatively well-received, the Master System adaptation garnered mixed reviews.
