Disturbing Video Game Music 14: The Evil of Engine Number 9 - Skullmonkeys
In honor of December in July I am uploading... 4 videos that should really be uploaded in October but eh...
The song here comes from the final level in Skullmonkeys, the sequel to the cult classic The Neverhood. The main villain of The Neverhood, Klogg, has recruited the dim-witted race of simians known as the Skullmonkeys to destroy the The Neverhood, good old Klayman sets off to confront his brother once again.
Unlike the first game, Skullmonkeys is a basic platformer, though monstrously hard it is still super fun. The final level is the terrible war machine Klogg enlisted the skull monkeys to build: Evil Engine Number 9, a planet-sized robot in the shape of a shark-like monster. Klayman must traverse the insides of this robotic giant, all the while cacophonic and clattering instruments play a song that signifies nothing less than pure chaos.
