0There are rumors that an old ruin was unearthed in the Broken Valley Mine and the Guild Master Williams was looking into it. (You can find the Guild Master's Log) The mine has already gained the attention of nefarious forces.
In the original Divinity II: Ego Draconis, you could get into the Tower, but the enemies within were much too strong as you're meant to visit it later in the game. Starting with Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga, the developers locked the tower so under-leveled players couldn't walk into a death trap.
