DLSS QUALITY | FS2020 RTX 5090 9950X3D | THIS SETUP IS A REAL PAIN
๐ฅ Disappointed with RTX 5090 + 9950X3D in MSFS2020
After upgrading to the RTX 5090 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D, I expected next-level performance in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Instead? I'm getting worse results than I did with my previous setup: an i9-12900K paired with an RTX 4090. ๐ฉ
I never used to get stutters with my previous setup, I could land into any busy airport on vatsim and it was fine!
Iโve spent days tweaking settings, BIOS options, drivers, GPU profiles, power plans โ you name it โ and the sim still runs inconsistently, with stutters and frame pacing issues that just shouldn't happen on a system like this.
๐ง Settings Used: DLSS set to Quality Mode with frame gen on, V-Sync enabled, and frame rate capped at 120Hz via NVIDIA Control Panel. Still experiencing inconsistent performance despite high-end hardware.
๐ป Current Specs:
GPU: RTX 5090 (Latest drivers)
CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X3D
RAM: 64GB RAM
Monitor: 4K 120Hz
(Old Setup: i9-12900K + RTX 4090)
๐ซ If youโve experienced anything similar โ or found a fix that actually works โ please drop a comment. This video is part performance rant, part cry for help, and part warning to other simmers thinking about upgrading.
๐ Donโt forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell for updates โ if I ever fix this, youโll hear about it first here.
