DND episode 3 - Basic DnD
39I look at the 1977 Holmes Basic rules as well as the 1981 B/X set for Dungeons and Dragons.
For this video I decided to make a shorter overview - if you prefer the longer form style let me know in the comments.
Holmes took elements from Original DnD and created a new variant of the game, whilst B/X launched a seperate parallel version of DnD that competed with Advanced DnD. I currently have no plans to cover BECMI or the Cyclopedia as they are essentially evolutions of the B/X set and would have made this video a super long edit like parts 1 and 2.
Like many other players I switched across to the ‘superior’ ADnD product line once funds allowed. But discussing that will be for the next episode – although it may be a while before I get round to researching, filming and releasing it.
