Donation NPC Explained/How to Prepare for 2x Donate Events
162The donation NPC uses a Queue structure for the donation list. In Computer Science terms, it follows a FIFO (first in, first out) structure.
There are two things at the bottom of the donation list that should be noted:
1. The Current Order count which shows the maximum amount of items that can be put on the list.
2. The Timer that runs for 6 hours. This determines when a new item will be added to the list.
This means that when the timer runs and :
1. the list is full, the bottom item is pushed out of the list and a new one is added on top.
2. the list is *not* full, the new item is placed on top.
3. the list is *not* full, nothing will be pushed out.
This means that if you buy out all the items every time, you will only get 1 new donation item every 6 hours. The item list does not put a fresh batch of items after 24 hours (like many seem to believe).
If there is a 2x event, its best to buy out all the normal items (NPC items like CDs can reach up to 300k worth to buy out o_O) so only the purple donate items remain. The advantage of this is so you know before the 2x Event starts which items you need to stock up on.
The 2x Donate events have been known to make purple item prices rise, so you can avoid some of the price surge. That said, buying out all the common items will hurt your wallet too so I suggest really evaluating how much you'll gain and how much you'll lose from doing this.
