Developed by Rare and published by Nintendo in 1994 for the SNES, "Donkey Kong Country" is the first game in the "Donkey Kong Country" series and a reboot of the Donkey Kong franchise.
A platformer with impressive pre-rendered 3D graphics for sprites and backgrounds, as well as a great soundtrack, "Donkey Kong Country" also has lots of secrets, bonus rounds, animal friends, and a high level of difficulty (as I learn) that is to be expected of the era and Rare specifically.

Donkey Kong overslept while Diddy Kong was tasked with guarding his banana horde. However the Kremlings, lead by King K. Rool, made off with the horde and stuffed Diddy Kong in a barrel. Now it's up to Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong to recover all his stolen bananas and beat up K. Rool and his Kremlings as punishment.
