Between studios like Disney, Dreamworks and Sony Pictures Animation, traditional 2D animated movies have all but died in Hollywood, paving the way for 3D to takeover. Although I adore the advancements CGI has provided us, giving us amazing works of art such as Spider-Verse, Entergalactic and Arcane, nothing beats 2D and it's worthy of a comeback! So today, not only do I wanna take a look at why 2D died in the west, but also dive into why I think it's the superior medium, taking a look at not only some hits from the Disney Renaissance era, but also some of my favorite theaterical experiences such as Dragon Ball Super: Broly, The Bob's Burgers Movie and Robot Dreams!
