86***NOTE - PLEASE READ!*** This video was recorded a while ago, and Don't Starve has had numerous major updates since then. This video might not be applicable for current versions of Don't Starve. If you're still running an older version, this should still be accurate. I'll make an updated video with any changes as soon as possible. ***UPDATED NOTE (Aug. 15, 2014)*** This video was made before the Reign of Giants DLC was released. I'm not sure if the folder locations, or anything else, has changed since. If you encounter any issues with this, let me know, and I'll update the video accordingly. Thanks!
***NOTE*** PLEASE READ...Transitioning from the "Powers (or Hunger?)" update to the newer updates (starting with "Nightmares") has caused some problems with backing up save files for some people. If you try to use the method in the video, and it doesn't work... don't panic. Try the process again (it worked for me on my second try). I've started making 2 copies of backup saves, just in case something goes wrong. I've tried this several times, trying to duplicate the original issue, and it's been working correctly for me ever since. Just be careful, and don't accidentally delete or corrupt a file you don't have a backup copy of. If you run into trouble, contact me, and I'll try to help you get it straightened out. This is a quick, simple tutorial on how to back up your Don't Starve save files. Never lose all of your hard work again!
*You don't have to save the backup to your desktop. Save it wherever you want, just remember where you put it.
There are probably other ways to do this, but this method is quick and easy, and it's never failed me.
I'm using a new, untested mic, so I apologize if the audio isn't great. (Although my accent will probably give you more problems than audio quality, haha).
*Note- this method is obviously not effective if you're not using a Steam version of Don't Starve
