Doom (1993) being played with the Free source version GZdoom, the source versions are in a vast majority of cases better in every respect than the classic as well as modern releases by ID software (In the case of BFG edition versions being very barebones with no improvements, no modern resolution etc).

The source versions add in such things as proper mouse look, modern resolutions, video effect options, multiple customizable settings from monsters to game mechanics (all optional things), a full new custom UI, turning auto aim off/on and more.

GZdoom can be found quick easily and most importantly for FREE online but if anyone has trouble finding it send me a message and I can send through a zip file with it hosted on google drive.

Episode 1 "Knee Deep in the Dead"

I have gotten further than I did with the Doom version in Doom 3: BFG Edition but the enemies are noticeably faster on Nightmare in the GZ source version.
