This is Hell Revealed 2 MAP23: When The Heavens Fall, done 100% on Ultra-Violence - played through PrBoom+ v2.5.1.4.

When The Heavens Fall is the twenthy-third level of Hell Revealed 2 and just like MAP20, it was designed by Martin Friberg. I like this map quite a lot. At first glance, it seems easyish, but getting 100% kills is where some problems might start popping up. First, I was planning to execute a strategy where I would take a shortcut to the Exit area by using a teleporter that lowers near the start. This teleporter takes you to a "skybox" area with a ton of Cacodemons, I thought about BFGing them all by using the teleporter, but soon came to realize that getting 100% kills using this strategy would be impossible as the lone bar blocking the Exit area cannot be opened from the other side. A switch must be used in a gray warehouse area to remove the blocking bar.

So, I went back to the "drawing board" and thought of a more efficient way of dealing the Red Key area, which is by far the hardest area of the level anyway, as you are being shot from every direction by Chaingunners, Hell Knights, Barons and Revenants with hardly any cover. With some luck, I was able to get the Cyberdemon guarding the Red Key to infight, and he was to thank for clearing most of the area for me. This also allowed me to spare a ton of ammo and few Megaspheres. The ending wasn't too bad, except the Cyberdemon was infighting, and "prefired" some rocket after killing a Revenant, but fortunately I saw this and was able to stay out of harms way.

Next stop, MAP24: The Inmost Dens III. I'm not looking forward to that level. Now, I'll take a few days days off and try devise a plan to complete it.
