Comment: Similar to the first level, the fights here are close quarter and intense, swarms overwhlem your personal space very quickly, you'll need sharp reflexes and dexterous movement to prevent yourself from being surrounded. The metallic, dungeon theme echoes MAP34 of Chillax very prominently, the red teleporter room being the most obvious homage as it has a very similar layout to a certain fight.
The Archvile use is very good here, forcing you to be coordinated with your strategy, using pillar cover effectively and timing your shots carefully, otherwise they'll rewind your hard fought progress and cause you to panic.
Their's a gluttonous amount of ammo, you'll never run out, but you still need to be careful with rocket use in the green hedge maze, you'll need a surplus for the Archvile cache guarding the red skull key.
The map isn't hard for casual play with save states, but when speedrunning and executing an aggressive strategy to attain an optimal time, it's easy to make crucial mistakes at the worst moment. This took several attempts and it started to wear me down, funny weapon switching in the blue teleporter area! :) I zoned out and forget how to dodge cyber rockets in the green hedge maze, I lost 3 attempts to screwing up the timing and dying on arguably the easiest scenario of the level.
The finale is pretty volatile, sometimes the Archvile cluster in the exit will trickle out slowly, but here they poured out in an aggressive flood and risked overrunning my position. It's a dare devil roll of the dice grabbing the BFG, if the Cyber is an aggressive twat he'll ruin your day. The exit itself merely consists of first prioritizing the cybers, if the Invul runs out and their still alive you'll be in deep shit with no cover, being harassed by the Archviles and you'll struggle to kill them in the hallways. After the Cybers are demolished, take out the Archviles by the exit, don't worry if they fling you all over the place, they have a tendancy to send you flying to one of the corners which is a good thing! As you'll take out a cluster much more easily.
About the wad: Mystery consists of 6 slaughter maps, entirely made by me. These maps are inspired my Chillax and other slaughter maps. Those of you played Chillax will surely enjoy it as Mystery maps are absolutely playable in single player.
