Doom 2, One Humanity, multiple attempts, countless fails on Ultra Violence
Game: Doom II
PWAD: one-humanity.wad
Difficulty: Ultra-Violence
My status: humbled
A blind incomplete playthrough of John Romero's new map One Humanity on Ultra Violence, just iterating and seeing what I can find. I should note I was quite tired and mostly very cautious playing this. It got quite late so I stopped before getting to the end, that will be for another time.
Like many people I was excited for John's first new Doom 2 map in over 25 years and of course its supporting a great cause.
Well after an hour, the vertical parts of it, lack of armour for some time, all those hit scanners and its basically just chaingun or shotgun for a while.
I got a massive fright when I first found the archville and didn't want to go back for some time :)
Those cyberdemons remind me of some of the sigil maps where they are more strategic mobile tower defences than targets you want to try to attack .. at least with the supplies I found so far. I look forward to coming back some time to see what I can do with the last bunch of enemies and see how many more secrets I can find.
