This is edited down to mainly combat with deaths removed as usual. This level took me 40 minutes to beat, but is edited down to the successful lives, with traversal removed. I also edited out objectives like switches when no combat was tied to them. This series is not intended as a step by step walkthrough but can be useful for seeing the methods used in combat encounters.
However the reality of this mode is that you have to be pretty proficient with recognizing the enemy patterns and tracking many enemies at once, as well as being able to quickly execute them, dodge, while moving constantly. The best way to prepare for this mode is to run through normal and ultra violent first. Otherwise it can be intimidating. It got much easier for me after the first 3 levels or so. Thats the hardest stretch since you have less equipment and health.
I leave some story in when its at the end of the chapter. I may have left the other story cutscenes in too, there is so few in this game. I dont remember because I took a long break before finishing off this run. The way I often play games is that my time is spread thin among many games. Eventually they get beaten usually. Sometimes I will focus almost purely on a single game but it really varies.
There was less focus here since it was less clear where to go at points. My other two playthroughs were back when the game came out and I always got lost on the part with the 4 cooling units to destroy.
I edited down the aimless wandering, but I still ignored the enemies for a while before deciding to kill them all so I could see where the fuck I was supposed to go. The last cooling unit is somewhat hidden.
For the last encounter of this level, its quite easy because they give you alot of BFG ammo, so I took advantage of that while still keeping the gun full.
