Doom 64 Dreamcast now has preliminary normal map support for its textures. You can see it when dynamic lights cause extra shadows on these surfaces. Apparently this was a feature on the Sega Dreamcast, but it was only used in rare instances on a few games before Sega discontinued the console. If you don't know, Doom 64 Dreamcast is a native Doom 64 port using reverse engineered code and the KallistiOS development kit for the Sega Dreamcast. It is the first native source port of Doom 64 to support dynamic lighting, giving fire and projectiles a glow. Another cool feature is that the Dreamcast controller analog triggers allow for analog strafing in Doom 64, so it now has complete analog movement. This opens up a future where you can burn Doom 64 mods onto CDs and give it to your friends for their Dreamcasts!
