For those of you who are unaware DOOM, in it's early years was an arena shooter at heart. It featured fast paced gameplay in a fixed hellish environment. The story basically surrounded scientific tampering on mars that resulted in the opening of a portal to hell. You, of course played as a heroic space marine who was sent in to battle the denizens of the damned, and shut the gates of hell down for good. Thus is the plot in a nutshell.

While this gameplay from the DOOM Beta is of the multiplayer experience only it still hints at the former glory days of DOOM which I'm more than glad to see. I'm all for this as DOOM needed a proper resurrection. Keep in mind it won't be like your CoD's, or Battlefields though so don't expect that, but if you like quick combat, and brutal kills you might just like what this latest DOOM has to offer. Do keep in mind there's supposed to be a singleplayer campaign as well!

Warpath is the more strategic mode in DOOM's multiplayer. It has the teams competing to capture an area, and get kills/points while defending that area. Once a player captures an area the area will follow along with them until they are killed. Teamwork, as one might expect is vital to a victory. Going Rambo, or lone wolf will get your team nowhere.
