Description:

I had a lot of fun with this one, although admittedly the time was a bit of work... work that I'm not sure how I got.

The first exit was 4:31. Told myself I could get below 4:30 so I went for it again. Got 4:17. Kinda worked it down until there was a 3:58 exit where I died running into it and failed getting INTO the exit. At that point I was determined to get below the 4 minute mark. This came really randomly, since all my previous times were sitting between 4:03 and 4:07. Not even sure what I did to shave that much time.

Anyway. This map is great, it's got a bit of a feel like the original E3M7 which is my favorite map so this one grew on me very quickly. It's open and cavernous on the outside but the insides are intricate and well thought out. It seems to grow as you unlock more of the map, making everything connected together at the end. The only grip I have is that the final secret can sometimes refuse to raise up all the way if a stray Lost Soul, Cacodemon, or even a Demon, runs right where the edge raises up and blocks it from going up. It just sinks back into the floor and the switch no longer does anything, causing the secret to be blocked and completely inaccessible. A rather nasty blemish to an otherwise amazing map.
