You have to love fighting Baron of Hell on a catwalk with a single shotgun if you want to survive this episode.
I probably died more often in this 9 levels episode than in TNT and The Master levels for Doom 2 combined.

This episode looks way better than any other episodes and official expansion pack.
On the downside, it is not really fun to play, maybe the second time playing it is better.

The first 2-3 levels were fun, after that it’s mostly a game where Romero search how to troll you the most with those "gotcha" moments.
Those maps are so unfair that even the level designer seems to have 5x more difficulty than I have at beating his own maps.

If you design a map, you know every details, traps and aren’t able to consistently playthrough it, it is maybe because the difficulty is a little bit over the top?
This is not coming from a Aussie boomer shooter reviewer.
I am not Decino or Zero, but my skills levels at FPS games are above an average player and I find those maps for the most parts really frustrating and tedious to play, an average player would probably have a mental breakdown playing this on UV.
You might have a better time trying to win the fight after using the teleporter at the end of E1M8.
