When DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal came out, there were no games that played quite like they did. That's why I'm so disappointed that DOOM: The Dark Ages did not continue that cycle and instead plays a lot like other games out there.

DOOM: The Dark Ages aims to re-define DOOM for a third entry in this new version of the series, but I feel it missed the mark. Instead of reinventing itself, DOOM has simply spent too long looking at other popular games and taking notes. I love it, it could be your GOTY, but I'm also very disappointed.
