GIMMICK PWAD TIME.

1Monster was an interesting and unique concept that set out a challenge to the authors; make a map however you see fit, but with the limitation of featuring only one enemy type within. In theory this sounds like more effort than it's worth, but the resulting WAD turned out to be quite a playable and enjoyable experience. For the most part, at least. You'll see why some people should never be allowed free-reign when it comes to mapsizes on projects like this, later on...

So anyway, with that mini-explanation done, it's time to murder the inhabitants of the first area. It's populated by nothing but Zombiemen, and there's not much in the way of items to grab. This has to be the longest instance that I've had to use that near-worthless Pistol, but thankfully this is a short map. Besides which, I'd still rather use that handgun than a Chainsaw or even Berserk in a situation like this.

Fighting off droves of Hitscanners is rarely fun at the best of times, and despite this place being filled with the lowest ranking maggot in the game, it can still dish out a world of pain to anyone with a brainless, "go geddem!" gung-ho attitude. It's not hard to survive at all (even with only the crappy Pistol), but this many Zombiemen can (and WILL) really start laying on the beatings to those who'd try taking them all on without cover.
