Here is my first submission for this midi pack. What you hear is once again a raw version as the final version you hear in the midi pack is a more refined and balanced version edited by Peter himself.

Dry Gulch is a track that used to be longer, so the final version could be considered an "abridged" version. I decided to cut that part because it was too fast and metal for what Peter's prompt was: "Grand and epic, but sorta laid back at the same time". Going full metal doesn't sound much "laid back". Also given the fact that the last 7 days available for making this midi I had very little time, I decided to cut the part straight away instead of trying to adapt and fit it somehow.

I had 2 sources that influenced a couple of parts here.
First I decided to use the timpanis in the end to give a more epic sound because of Alone In The Dark 2. The final music at the end sounds very epic because of the timpanis, so I thought: that's the mood I'm looking for.
Second, Before the outro parts and transitions the use of full powerchords and organ is a structure I borrowed from Symphony X's Church Of The Machine. I love how grand it sounds, so I decided to use that instrument combination for a riff here.

About the title... Well, I really had no idea for a title that kind of adapts to "canyon". Until Quackbuster came to my mind... Yes. Ever heard of Quackbuster? At some point Porky Pig is sent by Duffy to investigate some happenings to... Dry Gulch. So I grabbed that name. Exactly, zero logic.
