Doom / Race Drivin' - Null modem linked machines in MAME
* DOOM:
I won't explain how to install DOS then DOOM on this driver here. Take a look at: https://forums.bannister.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=86865
The command line should declare the null modem cable like this:
mame ct486 -board2:comat:serport0 null_modem -bitb socket.localhost:11185
You can run the same command line twice.
Inside each MAME instances, in "Machine Configuration" menu you must have the values shown in the video:
Flow Control: OFF
Data Bits: 8
Parity: None
RX Baud: 14400
Stop bits: 1
TX Baud: 14400
Then you can run DOOM has shown in the video.
* Race Drivin':
You have to had different "cfg" and "nvram" directory for both instances:
mame racedriv -cfg_directory cfg1 -nvram_directory nvram1 -mainpcb:rs232 null_modem -bitb socket.localhost:11185
mame racedriv -cfg_directory cfg2 -nvram_directory nvram2 -mainpcb:rs232 null_modem -bitb socket.localhost:11185
In game, enter the game's menu (F2 key), go to "Operator Screens". In third screen, called "Game Options", select last item and set one instance as GAME 1 and the other as GAME 2.
Inside each MAME instances, in "Machine Configuration" menu you must have the values shown in the video:
