DOOM: SIGIL II - E6M1 - UV MAX with VDP Monster Randomizer
Map: E6M1 - Cursed Darkness
Difficulty: Ultra Violence
I re-recorded this first map after recording all the other ones.
Because it's the first level/video and I didn't think the original had enough custom monsters.
It's random, so sometimes you get more sometimes less. This just gives a better idea how the rest is going to be like.
All the remaining levels are one continuing playthrough.
0:14 I set Cyberdemon and Spider Mastermind to "Replacers Only" because they're the most rare monsters here.
Kept everything else default.
0:28 may look easy, but this beginning part was really hard.
I would restart if I didn't have at least 60 health left before shooting the first eye switch.
2:33 on most tries if this lost soul charged before I could kill it. It would go over me.
That's where the 180 turn confusion came from.
3:13 I have no explanation for those amazing dodges. Other than being tired for trying so long.
I already beat the map once 1-2 hours earlier and the file got corrupted.
3:52 this guy looks like it's dodging the shots, but it was just lucky timing.
5:25 so that 100% kills was still possible. I'm glad I made decoration object replacers to not count as a monster.
Because sometimes they're out of reach. And in this case this would often close before I was able to kill it.
5:42 it's good to know this door has a monster blocking line so they won't enter the elevator. But it's still hard.
6:17 unnecessarily risky. why not prioritize lost soul in this situation.
7:40 this secret is also open for the first 30 seconds of this map. I opened it by pressing the switch at 6:48.
All the remaining levels have 30 second secrets that can't be re-opened.
Normally there's also a Berserk power-up, but I replaced it with Super Shotgun so I can have it for this entire playthrough for fun.

Sigil II is for Doom/Ultimate Doom. So normally there is no Super Shotgun.
I manually placed it to a secret in the first map to make this more fun.
GZDoom was recently released for current Xbox consoles for dev-mode.
So I got inspired to try to record something Doom again.
Because it's so easy to do on the console itself.
And on PC I can only record 720p/60 fps or 1080p/30 fps. And not without problems.
This wasn't perfect either. There's occasional lag here and there. But mostly flawless 4K/60fps is still a win for me.
For this whole playthrough I thought that the RUN/WALK button didn't work on Xbox GZDoom. Even though it works on PC with Xbox controller.
I had set the move sensitivity to 2.0 instead of 1.2 what I intended. And that made the run/walk button have no effect.
I realized it after recording each level, so I didn't use the walk button at all. Which occasionally is very helpful.
